Subject Leader of Music job summary
Required from Easter 2022 at our successful and oversubscribed school. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher of Music to step into a leadership role, for which there is a payment of TLR 2b, currently £4,783 per annum.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated to achieving the best possible outcomes for our students and will be a committed team player who is determined to make a significant contribution to raising attainment across the Music department. There is a whole school production, which takes place once every two years, and you will work collaboratively with the Dance and Drama departments to produce this; in addition we would wish the successful candidate to hold regular music concerts and take part in a number of local events and festivals.
Our Music Department currently has:
- Self-contained Music block with 5 good sized practice rooms
- Large stock of orchestral instruments in excellent condition for hire/ loan to students
- Class set of keyboards or pianos in all practice rooms
- Various instruments, including a set of African djembe, set of ukuleles, 6 drum kits (4 acoustic and 2 electric), Guitars (acoustic, electric and bass), a large selection of percussion and boomwhackers
- 15 iPad’s
- Team of 6 peripatetic tutors providing 30 hours individual tuition per week
