What skills and experience we're looking for
The Avon Valley School is seeking to appoint a Subject Lead for PSHE to deliver outstanding lessons as well as to have responsibility for the leadership, promotion and development of Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education across the School.
Responsibilities will include overseeing the provision of relationships and sex education (RSE) under the statutory guidance for schools.
PSHE is a fundamentally important area of The Avon Valley School curriculum and aims to enable our pupils to have the information, awareness and maturity to make responsible and informed decisions; to recognise that their choices and actions will have consequences and to understand what those consequences might be.
The school seeks a teaching professional with both integrity and compassion, to contribute to a busy and successful faculty.We invite applications from experienced teachers as well as NQTs in the early stages of their careers.
The ability to teach humanities would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be passionate about the importance of the PSHE programme and be highly organised. They will demonstrate the ability to lead and develop the staff who deliver PSHE to ensure high quality of teaching, effective use of resources and the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils. They will have the ability to adapt to the needs of students. Good emotional intelligence and a passion for engaging students in learning are essential.
