Subject Teacher - Mathematics job summary
We seek to recruit a well-qualified, talented and ambitious Mathematics teacher who is committed to self-improvement, and has the skills and enthusiasm to work closely within their department to support the further development of Mathematics in the School.
The successful candidate will be joining a very talented and highly motivated team, all of whom have Mathematics or Mathematics-related degrees. We take a mastery approach to teaching, with a focus on developing students’ understanding and ability to reason mathematically. In order to support this we use the White Rose Schemes of Work and resources in years 7 – 10, therefore spending more of our time thinking about and discussing how we will deliver content, rather than creating resources.
The successful candidate would also have the opportunity to teach A level, with every member of the department currently teaching at least one A level class. We also offer A level Further Mathematics, with a total of 22 students currently studying this in our Sixth Form. Therefore, the ability to teach A level Mathematics is desirable.
