Subject Team Leader Humanities job summary
An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced and dedicated teacher of Humanities to join our team as Aspire Academy as a Subject Team Leader of Humanities. Our Humanities department consists of an experienced team of subject specialists who teach GCSEs in Geography, R.E, History and Citizenship. Our KS3 curriculum also includes a full humanities offer in History, Geography and RE. The role would also involve the oversight of our Preparation for Adulthood course, which is planned collaboratively across departments.
The Subject Team Leader is responsible for all aspects of the work of the curriculum area or areas which form their designated areas of responsibility. The core focus of the Subject Team Leader’s role is raising pupil achievement. Central to this is leading and guiding staff working within the designated curriculum area(s), and, in so doing, fostering an environment within which teaching and learning is the key priority with a desire for it to be of the highest possible quality and each member of the team is able to develop to the full the pupils in our care.
This role is an additional responsibility in Humanities providing clear direction and a sense of purpose and leading and developing the aims and ethos of the school. This role will be integral to a students experience of school life and will need to take responsibility for student progress and welfare for a year group while contributing to the quality of pastoral care.
