Critchill School caters for pupils aged 4 - 19 years with profound, severe and complex learning difficulties.

Essential skills and experience

Clear understanding of C.P procedures and a commitment to keeping children safe.
Using a variety of teaching styles, incl individual, group & whole class approaches.
Matching teaching to children’s individual needs.
Knowledge of pupil target setting, inclusion & strategies for engaging all learners.
Excellent classroom practitioner with a range of teaching strategies
Knowledge & understanding of curriculum & assessment processes
Able to work to deadlines & see projects through to their conclusion–a ‘completer/finisher’
A detailed knowledge of the whole curriculum with particular skill in the use of ICT to enhance learning.
Planning for, supporting and securing accountability for additional adults in the classroom.
An understanding of frameworks & principles of embedding key skills across the curriculum.
Promoting & enhancing the personal & social development of every child.
Ability to develop appropriate links with parents, governors & the wider community (incl ext agencies)
