Teacher job summary

St Margaret's CE Primary School, Stoke Golding are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic Teacher to join our friendly and hard working team school. We are a caring and friendly school, with a strong Christian Ethos. St. Margaret's is a truly special place; many of the children describe it as 'one big family'. Our mission statement 'The roots to grow and the wings to fly' is at the heart of everything we do - encouraging and supporting children in developing strong roots on which to build their lives. We want to enable all of the children in our school to aim high, use their gifts and fly.

Our partnership with Unity Schools Partnership (USP) provides the resources of a wide range of curriculum experts to ensure that our curriculum design is robust, coherent, and well sequenced. Each decision regarding our curriculum is grounded in evidence-informed practices, enhancing the retention of knowledge for pupils and improving the effectiveness of teaching. This approach to curriculum development empowers teachers to focus on the craft of teaching, utilising their expertise and creative talents to effectively deliver learning to their unique cohorts.

Inspiring Primary Academy Trust caters for children from 4 to 11 years of age. We are an established Trust of schools set up in June 2017 . The schools in our Trust committed to providing each pupil with an entitlement to an enriching and aspirational curriculum that not only inspires but also acts as a catalyst for social mobility. Our dedication to this principle transcends all socio-economic backgrounds. To achieve this mission, we have joined forces with USP, collaborating to deliver the Curriculum of Unity Schools Partnership (CUSP). This partnership ensures that every student, regardless of their background, benefits from the transformative power of education.

Our schools are caring, with teams of dedicated professionals committed to providing a happy, safe, well disciplined environment where all children can grow. The emphasis is on excellence, excitement and challenge.

We pride ourselves on inclusivity and service to our communities. Children are encouraged to become independent, creative learners who also respect and care for others. We believe our schools are places where every child feels special and we hope that every child leaves us feeling they have something unique and special to offer the world in which they grow up.

OFSTED inspection - October 2024 - Graded GOOD across all areas; Ofsted inspected our school on 28th and 29th September 2021 stating that 'St Margaret's is a purposeful and happy place to learn.' We are delighted to have been judged Good in all areas, but the inspector felt that there was enough evidence of improved performance to suggest that the school could be judged outstanding if the inspector was to carry out a section 5 inspection now.

What is it like to attend this school? This is a happy and welcoming school. In accordance with the school’s mission statement, pupils are encouraged to develop ‘the roots to grow and the wings to fly’. Pupils feel comfortable to explore their ideas without fear of failure. One pupil described the school as ‘a safe, kind place to make mistakes’. Pupils are encouraged to be the best version of themselves. This underpins a culture of high expectations about what pupils can achieve. Most pupils achieve well.

What does the school do well and what does it need to do better? The school has recently increased the ambition of the curriculum in many subject areas. The curriculum now identifies what pupils should know and be able to do in order to be well prepared for secondary school. It sets out when teachers should help pupils to revisit their previous learning to help them to connect their learning over time. Pupils leave the school as confident readers. The school teaches pupils how to behave well. Pupils learn how to develop friendships and resolve conflicts. Most children in the early years quickly develop the ability to manage their behaviour.

St Margaret's is a distinctive and inclusive primary school situated in the historic village of Stoke Golding on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border.

We are proud to be part of the Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust and have strong links with our local parish and community.

Our children are confident, friendly and highly motivated with outstanding behaviour and we have a strong team of dedicated teaching & support staff.

Our school is a founding member of the Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust. Working in close partnership with the other 8 schools in the trust has enabled us to widen opportunities for pupils and staff. The trust offers fantastic professional development and active network groups enable professionals to hone their practice and ensure that staff in all phases do not feel isolated.

Over the past few years staff have collaborated to develop an exciting and relevant knowledge rich curriculum. An important focus has been embedding a new phonics scheme to ensure that every child becomes a competent reader enabling them to discover more about the world in which they live. It is essential that all staff have an unwavering belief that every child can become a proficient reader.

Our vision as a church school is to provide each member of our school community with “The Roots to Grow and the Wings to Fly”. Our Christian values of friendship, forgiveness, respect, truthfulness, perseverance, thankfulness and koinonia, really do permeate through everything that happens at the school.

We are a caring and friendly school, with a strong Christian ethos and there's a very special atmosphere at St Margaret’s making it a great place to learn and work. Many children describe it as 'one big family'.

The community values the school; parents are involved and supportive in developing well rounded children ready to take on any challenge. Many opportunities are provided for all members of the school community to come together to learn and make a difference in their world.

I would encourage potential candidates to arrange to visit the school to experience the school ethos in action or call us if they have any questions. There is also lots of information on our school website.
