Aloeric Primary School (Melksham)

We are a very happy team at Aloeric, with great relationships between staff and pupils and between the school and the local community. We believe in putting the children at the heart of what we do and want to develop all aspects of every child as they travel through the school – really giving the children a say in the development of the school and giving them opportunities to become confident and independent learners for the future.

We support an exciting curriculum, based on the needs and interests of the pupils, with many extra-curricular opportunities, visits and clubs to enrich learning. The school is well-equipped, set in spacious grounds and is able to provide outside adventure play, nature areas, and a large sports field.

There is a great atmosphere at Aloeric, with a real team spirit of mutual respect and enjoyment. We work very productively with parents to do the best for the children and reach out to the local community to broaden the experiences we can offer.

We are a very welcoming school. We are always keen to celebrate success and regularly invite parents in for assemblies and special events.

Our children only get one childhood and it is our aim to ensure that they leave Aloeric with lasting memories, great friendships and equipped with the essential skills to be successful as they move on. We underpin everything we do at our school through our Values:

Health and happiness

Excellence

Attitudes

Respect

Trust

We understand that Aloeric is at the heart of our Town's community and our children are at the heart of everything we do. We look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Vision & Aims

It is our vision to provide all of our children with a safe environment in which to learn and flourish. We hope to empower them with the confidence to ask questions, seek answers and find the very best versions of themselves. We want all of our children to grow into happy, proud and responsible citizens, who make a positive impact on the World and enhance the lives of those around them.

We will achieve this by:

Providing a rich and creative curriculum which inspires and motivates

Having high expectations in behaviour and learning

Promoting sports and healthy lifestyles

Valuing each other and celebrating our uniqueness

Becoming resourceful, resilient and responsible learners

Supporting and encouraging one another to make healthy and safe choices

We will continually strive to achieve the school’s vision through the formal curriculum and through all the other experiences offered to our children. High quality education will raise the children’s standards of attainment, enabling them to:

• Develop their use of English and Maths which provide the foundation for all their other learning

• Learn social skills that encourage positive interactions between their peers as well as adults

• Treat everyone in an equal manner, irrespective of gender, race, class or disability

• Develop personal and moral values that are respectful of others, leading to their appreciation and toleration of other religions and other ways of life

• Learn in a safe and secure environment, in keeping with Health and Safety Regulations that are in the interests of all whom work in the school.
