THE SCHOOL
Bayton CE Primary School is a small rural village school which can be found in the heart of Bayton village. There are currently 100 children on roll. We have a Pupil Admission Number (PAN) of 15. The school is arranged as follows:
EYFS – 15 children
Mixed Y1/2 – 30 children in total
Mixed Y3/4 – 30 children in total
Mixed Y5/6 – 30 children in total
The EYFS classroom was purpose built 9 years ago and hosts its own cloakroom, toilets, and beautiful outdoor classroom which wraps around the indoor classroom building. We are very fortunate to have wonderful views across the village at the front of school and be surrounded by large fields to the back. We also have a large playing field, playground, forest school site as well as our own school allotment area. We also share our site with the independent nursery ‘Little Learners’ and many of our children feed up to us from their provision. Little Learners also provide our school wrap around care services for parents. We have strong links with the nursery and work together to ensure smooth transitions into school as well as sharing good practice between both settings.
We serve a wide catchment area which includes the villages of Bayton, Mamble, Abberley, Clows Top, Cleobury Mortimer to name a few. With this in mind, the school also offer a local bus service to enable our children to attend school from their own village both at the start and end of the school day.
THE STAFF
The teaching staff currently comprises: Executive Head Teacher, Head of School, School Business Manager, Office manager. Our Senior Leadership team comprises of the Executive Head Teacher, Head of School, Business Manager and Maths/RE leader. There are 3 full time class teachers as well 2 part time teaching staff who work in our Y1/2 class. We have 3 teaching assistants across the school as well as 3 additional teaching assistants who support 1:1 children. The school also benefits from having a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who covers the large majority of the PPA, and delivers small group work interventions as well as art lessons. We also have a qualified Forest School Teaching Assistant who delivers forest school sessions, as well as leads our school Eco Team.
OUR VISION
As a school, we hold the education of our children close to our heart. We have therefore worked together to produce the following statements as part of our whole staff training in September 2017:
Our school motto
Be the best you can be, as a child of God!
Our school vision
We aim for everyone to be a part of our community, be life-long learners who are confident, enthusiastic, valued and reach their God given full potential.
Our school spirituality statement
we look through the window of life by cherishing and nurturing God's world around us and others.
I hope that this gives you a small flavour of our popular and friendly school! Further information is available on the school’s website: www.baytonprimary.co.uk
