What skills and experience we're looking for

We are delighted that the Department for Education and Suffolk have decided to invest in Special Educational Needs provision and because of this Sybil Andrews and Unity Schools Partnership are looking to appoint an inspirational person to set up and develop our new Key Stage 3 and 4 specialist provision for a maximum of 18 students with identified cognition and learning needs.

It is anticipated that the environment will reflect that of a fully inclusive hub within the school and where possible integration into the main school will be facilitated.

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider SEND team, our experienced Assistant Headteacher for SEND and Inclusion and be part of the wider network of Unity Schools Partnership.

The successful candidate will be: -

  • Passionate about inclusion supporting vulnerable children to gain an inspirational education.
  • An outstanding practitioner with high expectations of pupils' achievement and behaviour who is committed to providing high quality provision.
  • Able to maintain and drive forward exceptional standards whilst meeting the needs of a very vulnerable group of students.
  • An excellent communicator who is able to work inclusively with students, staff, parents and external professionals.

If you have successful experience, a strong commitment to inclusive values, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to strengthen partnerships, are ambitious to make a difference to the lives of young people and play a significant role in our exciting journey we would like to hear from you.

Professional development opportunities are plentiful, and we are working hard to be innovative around workload- we want you to have a balanced life and enjoy working with our children! Sybil Andrews Academy has a strong culture and a big heart.

We have a strong set of values, and we care. We have recently received a good judgement from Ofsted and we are part of the Unity Schools Partnership with other secondary, primary and Special Free Schools. All of which have a strong history of effective staff development and training.
