Our school
Oakwood Primary Academy is a two-form entry primary school in Eastbourne, for pupils aged 4-11 with over 300 pupils on roll. The majority of our pupils come from the local community – a community we are proud to serve. We are a school that has undergone huge, transformational change, having been rated as a “Good” school, in all areas, at our most recent Ofsted inspection in October 2022. We are proud of what has been achieved but are committed in continuing to raise outcomes and standards of all our pupils.
Oakwood Primary has a Foundation Village for pupils in our Nursery, Reception and Year One classes and in our main school building we have classes for Year 2 to Year 6. We have extensive grounds, bordered by trees, and an area for sport, that our children enjoy using.
Oakwood Primary is part of Aurora Academies Trust, an organisation that is committed to nurturing and developing talent. It is an exciting time to be joining Aurora. Our seven schools spanning nursery, primary and secondary provision are all judged to be good or better by Ofsted. The Aurora school improvement model has really taken off in recent years and is helping to ensure that pupils in our schools benefit from the best possible standard of education.
