Teacher (Early Years) job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, dynamic and skilled Early Years teacher to join our dedicated staff team. Our Nursery and Reception class are educated in an Early Years setting with a dedicated team of support staff, committed to ensuring all individuals achieve their full potential within EYFS. We benefit from a large outdoor area in a well-developed learning environment that supports and nurtures children’s progress. Our lovely school is both successful (‘Good’ OFSTED, April 2019) and popular.
We are looking for a teacher who:
• has a talent for making learning exciting and vibrant and who can inspire and motivate pupils
• has high expectations for children and has the subject knowledge to enable children to rise to these high expectations
• Has a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and how children develop and learn within the early years.
• understands and values the importance of learning through play, and the theory and practice behind this
• is able to provide a balance of formal and play based learning appropriate for Nursery and Reception aged children.
• is able to continue to build upon and develop our relationships with parents and understands the importance of working in partnership with parents
• has a good understanding of the teaching of phonics and developing early reading and writing within the EYFS.
• has the skills to meet the needs of individuals, raise standards and facilitate effective transition from the EYFS to Year 1
• has the capacity to lead a staff team and make a wider contribution to curriculum provision in our school
• shares our school vision, and demonstrates commitment to continued school and professional improvement
• will work closely with colleagues, governors, parents and the wider school community.
