What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a teacher who has a proven track record of consistently delivering excellent lessons and who is a team player. The suitable candidate will ideally be able to teach across the age range. Practicing Catholic candidates are preferred, but we welcome applications from anyone who would support the Catholic ethos of the school.
What the school offers its staff
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher to join our school family. English Martyrs’ RCP is a small and friendly school that has been graded as a ’Good’ school both by Ofsted and by its denominational inspection. Pupils describe their school as “a place of peace and a source of inspiration”. They know that everyone is “valued and included”. Parents frequently describe the school as “caring and friendly”. (Ofsted, July 2023)
English Martyrs’ RCP is a one-form entry primary school built on strong Catholic ethos and values. It is situated in Frindsbury, Strood which has fantastic links to London and the rest of Kent via High Speed Rail and the A2/M2 motorway. It is an inclusive and energetic school at the heart of the community.
We can offer support and CPD, a welcoming and friendly school, supportive parents and governors. With the exciting prospect of joining Kent Catholic Schools’ Partnership (KCSP) later in this academic year, the successful candidate will have a great opportunity to build upon and further develop the excellent work already taking place at the school, with the added support and guidance afforded by a well-established multi-academy trust.
Commitment to safeguarding
English Martyrs’ School is a Safer Recruitment School committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and require all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. All candidates must complete a self-disclosure form as part of the application process.
Offer of appointment is subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

English Martyrs’ is a one-form entry Roman Catholic school located on Frindsbury Hill in Strood within the Archdiocese of Southwark and Medway Unitary Authority.
Our school is known for its friendly, caring environment where children thrive. As a Catholic school, we create an atmosphere in which children can grow into the fullness of their faith. We develop their understanding of, and respect for, people of all faiths and cultures. We value parents as children’s first teachers. We aim to educate our pupils in every way so that they are friendly, spiritual and caring individuals who enjoy learning and achieve their potential in all areas.
We provide a welcoming, safe environment in which children learn to speak and behave properly and to care for and comfort others. We encourage the children to carry these lessons with them into their every-day lives whilst they are at our school and when they move on.
Our vision is to be a school community that works together to achieve excellence; where all are valued; where children become resilient and confident; have no limits placed upon them and grow as individuals in God's love.
