Cringleford Prep is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, and ambitious classroom teacher to join our team in September 2026. This position has become available due to the school’s continued growth, and we are specifically looking to appoint an EYFS teacher. What You’ll Be Doing
- Teaching students according to their individual educational needs and prepare engaging lesson plans.
- Assessing, recording, tracking, and reporting on student progress, development, attainment, and attendance.
- Using a variety of teaching methods and resources, including ICT, literacy, and numeracy, to provide a high-quality learning experience.
- Maintaining discipline, encouraging good behaviour, attendance, punctuality, and standards of work and homework.
- Planning and contributing to curriculum development, schemes of learning, and whole-school policies.
- Working collaboratively as part of a phase team and contributing to whole-school planning activities.
- Engaging actively in professional development, performance management, and the staff development programme.
- Communicating effectively with parents, carers, guardians, and external agencies, including participation in open evenings and parents’ evenings.
- Promoting student well-being, participation in school life, and supporting their personal development.
- Supporting the Primary’s ethos, mission, corporate policies, and health and safety procedures, playing a full role in the school community.
About You
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, empathy, patience, and creativity in teaching. You will also be adaptable and passionate about your students' success. You will act as a positive role model, foster a supportive learning environment, and be committed to your own continuous learning and professional development.
Essential:
- An appropriate degree and other qualifications required for the award of QTS.
- Qualified Teacher Status (trainees should be on track to achieve QTS before taking up the post).
- Knowledge of the statutory requirements concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection
- Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider community.
- Experience of teaching the relevant phase in a primary school.
- Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies, including the ability to provide for individual student needs.
- Experience of the monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress.
Desirable:
- Master’s Degree or other advanced qualifications.
- Experience teaching a knowledge-rich curriculum.
- Experience teaching across the whole primary age range and working in partnership with parents.
- ReadWriteInc training or experience.
- Advanced qualifications or experience in behaviour management, pedagogy, EAL, or SEND.
