Specialisms in mathematics or English would be particularly welcome.

Hambleton and Richmondshire PRS is an Alternative Provision based in Northallerton and caters for children aged 11 – 16. We are expanding to open a Targeted Mainstream Provision (TMP) based at Thirsk School in September 2022 and require a dedicated professional to join our established team. This post will involve teaching at both settings and provides the exciting opportunity for developing and enhancing skills in working with children with additional needs.

We believe that strong teaching is essential for the development of positive learning and successful outcomes. We are seeking a talented, qualified teacher with passion and self-awareness, who can inspire confidence and resilience in vulnerable learners. The successful candidate will be reflective in their practice and have good levels of emotional literacy. If this sounds like you and you are interested in working in a dynamic environment, we would like to meet you!

We offer our students a broad curriculum with a strong thread of social and emotional learning. We use the Thrive Approach and all staff have a dual focus on curriculum and pastoral development. You will need excellent communication skills to ensure good relationships with students and their families. Multi agency working is also a requirement of this role.

Whilst knowledge of Alternative Provision would be useful, training will be provided. Our students may present behavior that challenges and effective behavior management skills are essential to this role. The TMP will take students with identified social, emotional and mental health needs who need support within a mainstream environment.

If you are looking to work with a friendly, welcoming and supportive team, Hambleton and Richmondshire PRS would welcome your interest.

Safeguarding is an essential part of all roles at Hambleton and Richmondshire PRS and all posts are subject to enhanced DBS checks and safer recruitment processes.

For further information, please contact Alison Keane, Headteacher or Vicky Milne, Deputy Head.

Hello and a warm welcome to The Sunbeck Centre.

We provide education for young people aged between 11-16, predominantly from secondary schools in the Hambleton and Richmondshire area of North Yorkshire.

Our aim is to provide an environment and education that supports mainstream education and enables students to overcome barriers and challenges to learning.

Our experienced staff form positive relationships with students and their families. We deliver a core academic curriculum, vocational subjects, such as construction and catering, and look to enhance wellbeing through outdoor education, PE and Thrive. All of our staff use the Thrive approach in our setting to help students to understand how to build resilience and become better able to manage difficult emotions.

Our building is located in Northallerton in North Yorkshire. Students travel to us either on school transport, by taxi or on foot, depending on their home location and arrangements with their school.

Whilst we have been at our East Road site for ten years, we are very excited to start our new role as Alternative Provision from September 2020.
