- £30,500 to £47,133 per annum (dependent upon experience).
Additional allowances
Plus a responsibility allowance pro rata to £5,162 to £8,392 per annum (applicable for the Head of Department role only)
What skills and experience we're looking for
Essential –
- Successful and recent experience of teaching Computer Science to high-attaining students
- Successful experience of teaching A-level Computer Science
- Ability to set and achieve high standards for themselves, colleagues and students.
- Ability to manage student progress and achievement and complete all relevant documentation.
- Have an awareness and understanding of current developments in their subject area
- Ability to create effective rapport with, and inspire the confidence of, external partners such as teachers at other schools, employers, and university departments.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to enthuse and innovate.
- Ability to create effective rapport and a constructive relationship with students and staff, both in and out of school.
- Ability to relate to and inspire students to develop their talents.
- Excellent IT skills, including the ability to learn new systems quickly and use them intelligently.
- The depth of knowledge and the mental agility to allow flexibility in lessons
- An excellent classroom teacher
- The ability to deliver your primary subject to university entrance standards.
- Able to display a high level of management skills
Desirable –
- Experience of collaborating on curriculum development and course design (Head of Department role only)
- Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating effective outreach activities (Head of Department role only)
- Expertise in analysing student data (Head of Department role only)
- Success in preparing students for university entrance, including supporting UCAS applications
- Experience of using innovative pedagogies, including ICT, group work, formative assessment, research projects etc.
- Involvement in delivering CPD (Head of Department role only)
- Knowledge of research-based pedagogy
