Who we are seeking

We are seeking a great teacher - someone who shares our core values, relishes collaboration, and who wants to create places of learning that are truly remarkable. We want you to come to work every day with a spring in your step, to ensure that our children leave every day, excited and eager to return the next! To enable you to do this, we want to bring out the best in you. Please let us know on your application what your personal interests and professional skills are and whether you have a preference for teaching in a particular key stage. We offer a broad range of professional development opportunities, including regular coaching , tools to support areas including pedagogy and writing and opportunities to work with colleagues in other Trust settings,

This is an exciting time to join Hightown, following a successful Ofsted in November 2023 and as we prepare to open our brand new nursery provision, in a completely remodelled Early Years wing.

Hightown is situated on the outskirts of Southampton, just a few minutes’ drive from the M27 and within easy reach of the M3 and South Coast.

What's special about our Trust?

We are research led and psychological safety is an important feature of the approach that we take to staff development and growth within our Trust.

Our offer to you:

  • The opportunity to work in settings which benefit from being part of a multi-academy trust that is large enough to effectively support schools but small enough to know and care for them individually, and the people who work and learn within them, well. We take staff wellbeing seriously.
  • A competitive salary and longer school holidays than maintained schools, including a two- week October half-term break
  • A variety of career pathways and bespoke professional development. We invest in people
  • Tools that reduce teacher workload, enhance pupil progress and provide clear expectations
  • Opportunities to observe and ask questions of colleagues and to ‘give things a try’. We encourage innovation, research, bravery and development
  • Eligibility to join the Teachers' Pension Scheme
  • Recognition of continuous service with Local Authorities and other Academy Trusts
  • CEO Awards to recognise those amazing everyday achievements
  • Cycle to work scheme and ongoing discount offers at Halfords and Tredz
  • The ability to be the change within the community that you will work in

Our community would like a teacher who:

  • Exhibits their commitment to maintaining a robust culture of safeguarding
  • Demonstrates an affinity with our vision and values
  • Is passionate about learning
  • Is interested in a research approach, including experimentation and sharing
  • Believes that improvement is always possible
  • Shows enthusiasm, drive and commitment
  • Has the ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults
  • Has the skills and expertise to understand the needs of all pupils
