Teacher in charge of Sociology job summary
Slough and Eton is looking for a great teacher who is a Sociology specialist to join our Social Sciences department and oversee the teaching of Sociology. We have an experienced Curriculum Leader and a great mix of experienced and recently qualified staff in the team. Sociology is a successful and popular subject area at Key Stages 4 and 5.
The department is housed in the Sixth Form Centre and all classrooms benefit from access to the latest Clevertouch interactive technology. The new member of this team needs to be qualified to teach Sociology and have a love of the subject. We currently follow the WJEC specification for GCSE and OCR for A-Level. If this sounds appealing to you then you will need to be hardworking, dedicated to ensuring students of all abilities can succeed and, crucially, a great classroom teacher. Previous experience of examination teaching at either KS4 or 5 is essential and experience of A-Level teaching would be a bonus. ECTs are encouraged to apply as this is a great team with which to develop your teaching skills. Candidates who can offer Psychology as a second subject will add to the capacity of the Social Sciences team well.
