What skills and experience we're looking for
- Job Title: Teacher in our Specialist Support Centre
- Start date: Monday 17th April 2023
- Salary Grade: M Pay scale to be determined on application plus SEND allowance
- Contract: 1 year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, possibility to extend
We wish to recruit a full time, qualified teacher to work in our Specialist Support Centre.
Bowker Vale Primary School Specialist Support Centre (SSC) caters for up to 9 children with EHC Plans for social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The children have full access to the National Curriculum with an emphasis on developing social skills, addressing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Successful Candidates must have:
- Recent and relevant experience of working with children with SEMH
- Excellent understanding of the needs of children with SEND
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work alongside a team of Teaching assistants
- Excellent numeracy/literacy skills
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- High expectations of children’s achievement
- The ability to be flexible, show initiative, be reliable and enthusiastic
- Familiarity with positive handling (training available)
