A warm welcome from the Head Teacher
On behalf of our children and the staff here at Pocklington CE Infant School, I would like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to consider an application to get involved in the next chapter of our school’s story.
I was honoured to be appointed as Head teacher in the summer of 2017 and since then we have been working together as a team to make some major improvements to the way our children learn the key skills they will need in life. Our curriculum is built around our love for literature. We are also introducing pupils to other famous people who have shone a spotlight on their subject e.g. spotlight artists and musicians.
I have the pleasure of leading a hardworking and skilled team, who are dedicated to providing the very best education in a warm, caring and stimulating environment.
As Pocklington grows, we have expanded and in September, as we add a third Year 2 class, we will have a vacancy for one more highly skilled, positive and dedicated teacher. Applicants interested in KS1 are encouraged to apply. Unfortunately, this is not a role suitable for ECT’s.
We all strive to ensure our children flourish whilst they are in our care. Our parents, in a recent survey, indicated that one of our main strengths is that the children love coming to school and feel safe when they are here, we want to ensure that this continues for many years to come.
Pocklington CE Infant School is a happy school where children love learning. Along with our focus on academics, we recognize the importance of pupil’s social and emotional development. We have staff trained to support your child develop good mental health and self-esteem. We work in close partnership with our pupils, their parents, carers, and our local community, particularly All Saints Church in Pocklington. We are proud to be a Church School and our Christian Values are central to everything we do.
I hope this pack provides a little insight into our world. We are waiting to hear from you and we look forward to receiving your application.
Dr Lynn Bartram
Our Vision
Vision statements do not need to be complicated and we are confident you will share in the ambition of our vision of Happy Children Loving Learning. We are also in the business of happy colleagues enjoying work too.
Our Mission
We are looking for outstanding people who can help us to deliver our mission at school. Our mission is ‘To provide quality learning experiences that enable everyone to reach their potential within a stimulating, safe Christian ethos and environment.’
Our Christian Values
As a Church of England school, our Christian values are very important to us. We take our values seriously and last year we worked with our children, parents, staff and school governors to agree what they should be.
At Pocklington CE Infant School, we have four special Christian Values - Compassion, Perseverance, Truth and Respect.
As a member of our team, we would expect you to demonstrate these values and help our children to learn more about what they mean.
