Cobden Primary is a friendly and welcoming school in Farnley, West Leeds. Disappointingly, on our last inspection we were graded RI but hope this will change during our next visit as we believe we are an amazing school!

Our school has a mixture of open plan and closed teaching areas and is very well resourced. We have sets of ICT resources that can be used within the classroom, a sensory area and an area for therapeutic input.

There are two playgrounds, which have outdoor equipment, and our grounds are very extensive with areas that can be used for sport or to support outdoor learning across the curriculum. Foundation Stage has a self-contained outdoor play area. Each playground has a reading shed and space for quiet activities too.

We have a very strong positive behaviour policy and a supportive, caring ethos. We currently have our own provision for pupils with SEMH issues on site. The staff in Stepping Stones have all been specially trained to provide a high level of pastoral and nurturing support.

Staff Team
The school comprises of Headteacher and 11 Teachers, 16 Teaching Assistants, 1 Family Support Worker, 1 Behaviour Support Worker, 1 Business Manager, 1 Administrator, 1 Superintendent, 1 Facilities Assistant and 3 cleaning staff.
Classroom staff are currently organised as follows:

The staff team has a good balance of experience, and it is both friendly and supportive. The staff team work hard together to support our pupils, who are polite, friendly and eager to learn. We receive a good level of pupil premium funding that is used to employ our team of highly effective and dedicated support staff.
