Teacher - Maternity Leave Cover 0.5 (Part Time) job summary
The Governors and staff of our small, popular village church school are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified class teacher to work as part of our dynamic, forward thinking team. The post will form part of a job share, working in our mixed year 5/6 class alongside a current member of our teaching team.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience of teaching within the primary age range, in particular Y5/6
Have a clear understanding of the curriculum and assessment
Have high expectations for our children’s progress and overall achievement
Take an imaginative and creative approach to curriculum planning that captures the children’s interest
Be forward thinking, innovative and highly energetic
Have a passion for quality teaching and learning, enabling the best outcomes for our children.
Be able to work well as part of our whole school team and school community

Bayton CE Primary School is a small rural village school which can be found in the heart of Bayton village. There are currently 106 children on roll. We have a Pupil Admission Number (PAN) of 15. Currently the school is arranged as follows:
EYFS – 16 children
Mixed Y1/2 – 29 children
Mixed Y3/4 – 30 children
Mixed Y5/6 – 31 children
We are very fortunate to work within a beautiful setting having wonderful views across the village at the front of school and surrounded by large fields to the back. We also have a large playing field, playground, forest school site as well as our own school allotment and reflection area. We share our site with the independent nursery ‘Little Learners’ and many of our children feed up to us from their provision. Little Learners also provide our school wrap around care services for parents. Our EYFS classroom was purpose built 7 years ago and hosts its own cloakroom, toilets, and beautiful outdoor classroom which wraps around the indoor classroom building
We serve a wide catchment area which includes the villages of Bayton, Mamble, Abberley, Clows Top, Cleobury Mortimer to name a few. With this in mind, the school also offer a local bus service to enable our children to attend school from their own village both at the start and end of the school day.
THE STAFF
The Teaching staff currently comprises: Executive Head Teacher, Leadership Team which includes Head of School, Maths Leader & RE Leader and School Business Manager. There currently are 3 full time class teachers as well 2 part time teaching staff. Each class has access to Teaching Assistant support, with 3 children across the school currently having their own 1:1 support in addition. The school also benefits from having a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who covers PPA for staff each week, and also delivers pur Art curriculum. We also have a qualified Forest School Teaching Assistant who delivers forest school sessions throughout the school over the course of an academic year. Each year group have half a term of forest school.
The Administration Staff consists of a Full time office manager as well as a School Business Manager who works on site each Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays.
