Teacher job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher with experience and a passion for teaching children with SEND. We would welcome applications from teachers who have worked with autistic pupils in a primary, secondary or special setting.
Salary: MPS (£31,650 - £43,607) + SEN Allowance (£2,679)
About the role:
The successful applicant will have a firm but nurturing approach, a relentless focus on pupil progress and high expectations of pupil learning and behaviour. They will also have a creative and innovative approach to engaging pupils and overcoming barriers to learning. Training in approaches to teaching the wide range of pupils on roll will be provided for the successful applicant e.g. physical intervention, autism.
Your application should demonstrate your experience, commitment, knowledge and passion for working with children with SEND and Autism, along with a willingness and enthusiasm to contribute further to the wider life and ethos of the school. The successful applicant must be committed to their own professional development and be willing to engage in training opportunities and will be required to teach the whole primary curriculum. Nethergate Academy is an outstanding special academy in the City of Nottingham for 169 pupils aged 3-19 with complex learning difficulties and disabilities. Many pupils are autistic, and some have SEMH needs. In September 2019 we opened a specialist provision for children with autism as their primary need.
