North West Surrey Short Stay School (NWSSSS) is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to join the staff team.
NWSSSS is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) serving Woking, Runnymeade and Surrey Heathfor learners, aged 11 - 16, who have had difficulty in maintaining a place in mainstream education.
Our team of highly professional and dedicated staff work in partnership with parents, partner schools, the LA, the Management Committee and health agencies in order to support each student to achieve their full potential.
We provide a range of programmes that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual student. In partnership with PIXL we ensure every students follows 'The Edge' Programme, where learners develop the key attributes of Leadership, Organisation, Resilliance, Independence and Communication. At KS4, alongside The Edge, the students study for GCSE Maths, English, Science and Art with an additional qualification of NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Sport or GCSE PE.
At NWSSSS, we enable the students to understand their barriers to learning and assist them to reintegrate back into a suitable education setting.
The successful candidate can be from any subject background but be able to teach English and Maths to KS3, the ability to teach English to KS4 would be beneficial but not essential.
The successful applicant will have the ability to understand what it takes to help a vulnerable learner progress both in a pastoral manner and academically.
