What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person with a high level of personal drive and energy, to support a dedicated and established team in a small group inclusion setting. You will have the opportunity to deliver small group lessons and one to one academic support in a variety of subjects, although central to any provision will be the delivery of English lessons. Although you do not have to be an English specialist, you will have a ‘can do’ attitude that with the right preparation, you can support pupils to be successful in any subject! Although many resources are provided, a willingness to develop your own ‘spin’ on things would be a major asset. As you will be working with some of our more vulnerable and challenging students, you will need to be self-motivated, resilient, exceptionally well organised and a good team worker

What the school offers its staff

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment with excellent attendance and punctuality, enthusiasm and a good classroom presence. Ideally, candidates should have experience of working with young people and be willing to actively seek to develop their own learning to enhance the service delivered. Support and training will be offered.

Commitment to safeguarding

Ascend Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any position that involves working with children requires declaration of ALL convictions/cautions regardless of whether these are deemed as spent and a DBS check will be carried out before any employment commences. References will be obtained before interview at shortlisting stage and may be used in the interview process. Any gaps in employment must be detailed and an explanation provided in the relevant section.
