· The art department is an established and outstanding subject area and forms an integral part of the Creative Design Faculty including Technology subjects at Finham Park School. We offer a broad specialist art curriculum to our young learners from year 7 to year 13. A large number of students opt for GCSE and A level subject pathways in Photography, Graphics and Fine art. GCSE courses are delivered over 3 years from year 9 to year 11 and we set high level expectations for our students and the standards set at all levels forms the basis for excellent retention of students to our courses. Students achieve excellent results year on year and we encourage students approach work creatively in order to produce and make diverse and exciting work outcomes in our workshop style learning sequences. Students have access to a wide range of new and traditional media and materials and engage in combining materials and processes regularly. In the art department we have 4 full time dedicated and highly skilled members of specialist teaching staff and we have a full-time technician. We have 4 specialist art rooms that are designated for art teaching. The staff in the department and faculty are a highly supportive and experienced cohesive team.

· Finham Park is a popular, successful and exciting secondary comprehensive school of over 1,500 students and is consistently oversubscribed. The school was rated as 'Outstanding' for the second time in 2015. Standards are consistently above national averages with us being a high performing school that received 'World Class' status for the second time in 2018.

· We provide a wealth of CPD opportunities for staff across a range of stages in their careers. The CPD responds to the needs of the school, the staff and the Multi Academy Trust through our Teaching School, The Lion Alliance.
