Teacher of Art and Design (with the opportunity to teach a second subject) job summary

We are looking to appoint a part-time, teacher of Art and Design. There is a possibility to increase the days worked if you can offer a second subject.

The successful candidate will join a forward-thinking team who are fully committed to innovative teaching methods, which motivate and engage all students. Applicants must be able to teach across the whole ability range and should bring with them enthusiasm and expertise in the teaching of Art and Design up to KS4. The ability to teach KS5 would be advantageous but is not essential.

Extra-curricular opportunities are also an integral part of our curriculum and delivering this will be an important part of the role. Applications from well-qualified ECTs are encouraged.

Our 11-18 school is at an exciting stage in its development. Our dedicated new Sixth Form building opened to students in January 2021, and the Mulberry Centre, a 24 place SEND setting, opened in November 2021. You will be joining a close-knit team and a Trust that is committed to ambition, aspiration and excellence for all.

We can offer you:

  • An ambitious, supportive Trust which is inclusive and strongly rooted in civic leadership
  • The opportunity to contribute to the effective development of the Art and Design curriculum
  • A genuine commitment to your personal and professional growth including a CPD offer from Chartered College of Teaching
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and successful practitioner to make a significant contribution to the Stowupland High School community.

Commitment to safeguarding

John Milton Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance check. References will be taken up for all shortlisted candidates prior to interview.
