Teacher of Art job summary
Millthorpe School is looking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated teacher to join our Art department.
The successful candidate will be passionate about Art and take a keen interest in research behind teaching methodologies in the classroom. Art is taught in all year groups and is a popular GCSE option, with 4 classes in Key Stage 4. We require the successful candidate to teach across a full range of age and ability.
The Art department has 2 large specialist classrooms, a large art store, office space, and an additional large classroom with a kiln for clay work. The department is supported by a part time art technician. The Art department have established community links and our students have created art work for local businesses and community projects. The Art department consists of a full time Head of Department and one part time teacher (the advertised post). This post would suit an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher who is able to contribute to the department with input on teaching practice and extracurricular experiences for our students.
The post will provide an opportunity for a well-qualified and dynamic teacher to join a successful Art Department that is determined to excel, and to help the school in its journey from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’.
Please note – this is initially a Part Time (0.7 FTE), Fixed Term Contract for one academic year with the potential to become permanent.
