What skills and experience we're looking for
Required for September 2023 start.
We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Art and Photography with an ability to deliver high quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. It would be advantageous if there was experience of teaching or specialising in Photography.
The school is committed to the importance of the Expressive Arts curriculum for all students. The Art Department benefits from purpose-built, specialist accommodation in the Jubilee building. Facilities include four spacious Art studios, a kiln, a computer suite, dark room facilities, an exhibition foyer and a technician’s preparation area. Option take up is good, with pathways in GCSE Fine Art, 3D design, Photography and Textile Art.
The Mountbatten School is committed to providing a rounded education which develops happy students who are ready to face the world with confidence. Academic standards are extremely high: our Progress 8 measure places us in the top few schools in Hampshire. We are proud of our students and they are a delight to teach.
What the school offers its staff

The school has a wealth of outstanding features which have been recognised in excellent Ofsted reports and a host of other national awards. The school is recognised for its very high quality teaching and academic achievement combined with strong commitment to student welfare and to assiduous monitoring of each student’s progress. Students are exceptionally well-behaved with politeness and common courtesies being highly valued and practised by nearly all of our students. Our primary objectives are excellence, fellowship, co-operation, and the development of students as independent, responsible, and involved members of the larger world community.
