• be able to demonstrate a proven track record of recent and successful class teaching in mixed ability classes of aged 11-18 students (or of successful completion of initial teacher training if applying as an ECT).

We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic and creative Art Teacher, with excellent subject knowledge, to join our vibrant and successful Art department, on a permanent and full time basis from September 2025. QTS is essential. The ability to teach photography and / or textiles at Key Stage 4 and 5 would be desirable.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an excellent team, who are passionate about achieving student success and expanding the department to raise the profile of the subject - both within the school and in the wider community. Uptake at GCSE is regularly above national average and our 2024 cohort celebrated an 81% pass rate of 4 and above in GCSE Fine Art, with this year’s group predicted to achieve 92%. We also offer both Fine art and Photography A-Level at KS5.

The Academy is purpose built with outstanding facilities, including a dark room and kiln. Our students benefit from an exciting extra-curricular programme as well as the Academy being a registered provider of the Arts Award offering Bronze and Silver to our KS3 students. The department enjoys close relationships with local art communities by running exciting and varied art workshops. We also run a KS5 Art, 3D Design and Photography trip to London’s South Bank.
