What skills and experience we're looking for

King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Biology teacher to join our high-performing successful department.

As a teacher you will teach Science across the age and ability range and specialise at Key Stage 4 and 5. Science is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form. In 2023, over 80% of Year 11 students achieved at least two GCSE science grades at 9-4 and almost half of the cohort takes the Triple Science pathway. Results are very strong at GCSE in both Separate Sciences and Combined Science. We have a strong uptake for A-level, with multiple groups for all sciences in both Year 12 & 13. We also teach a successful Level 3 Diploma in Medical Science.

We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills alongside the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to show a passion for their subject, work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life.

The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching; we have recently expanded and now have 250 students in each Year 7 cohort. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral city which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas.
