What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate will make an outstanding contribution to the future development of PE, display a clear commitment towards the continual raising of standards through extra-curricular and enrichment activities and support the delivery of sport to primary schools in the area. The ability to teach a second subject would be an advantage. Our exceptional facilities include a floodlit, all weather, synthetic training pitch, a large sports hall and gymnasium, large creative arts, drama and dance halls, playing fields, tennis and netball courts and a fully equipped fitness suite.

Humphry Davy School is situated in beautiful West Cornwall and is committed to ensuring the highest quality of education for all our students. Ofsted (Short Inspection November 2016) judged the school as ‘good’ and stated, “Across the school we found that pupils were very keen to learn. Pupils we spoke with enjoy coming to school and feel that they are making good progress. Pupils are well-mannered and keen to tell visitors how good the school is and how it keeps them safe”. A more recent visit in July 2022 by the LA education effectiveness team highlighted how staff create a positive atmosphere and inclusive ethos, leading to all students having a sense of belonging to the Humphry Davy Community.
