Introduction

We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who wants to join a thriving department.

Park High is an 11-18 mixed multi-ethnic comprehensive school of almost 1500 students, situated in the London Borough of Harrow. There are very high achievement levels and excellent facilities. Ofsted (2024) judged the school good in all areas.

We can offer:

An exciting learning environment where challenging, innovative and engaging learning is at the core of all we do.

An award-winning vibrant school which continues to achieve extremely high standards, both in Harrow and beyond.

A genuine and active pursuit of well-being for all members of our community.

Outstanding outcomes with a positive Progress 8 score and zero NEETS.

Students who exhibit excellent behaviour for learning and a desire to acquire knowledge and improve themselves.

A supportive, enthusiastic and inspiring team within which to grow and develop.

An opportunity to develop your craft of teaching across three Key Stages.

Curriculum, staffing and resources

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing Park High into an exceptional school by delivering a rigorous, knowledge-driven Business and Economics curriculum and implementing highly effective lesson sequences. They will continuously reflect on and refine their teaching practice to ensure the highest standards of education. The Business and Economics department has consistently been one of the school's most successful departments, and although currently small, its growth is expected as the subject continues to gain popularity. All courses are taught in mixed-ability classes across key stages. At KS4, we offer the Pearson Edexcel GCSE 9-1 Business, while at KS5, the subject is an incredibly popular and successful offering with Pearson Edexcel A Level Business. There are also plans to expand the department further by introducing vocational courses in the near future.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Business and Economics lessons that align with curriculum guidelines and standards. They will utilise a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students are engaged and supported. Additionally, they will create dynamic lesson plans, activities, and assignments that encourage student participation and foster critical thinking. Teaching a broad range of business-related subjects, such as economics, marketing, business management, and finance, will be a core responsibility. The candidate will also assess student progress regularly through assignments, tests, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback on student performance. They will offer additional support when necessary, helping every student reach their full potential. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success and growth of the department, with the potential to shape the future of Business and Economics at Park High.
