St John’s is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated full-time Teacher of Business and Personal Finance. The successful candidate will join one of the school’s most effective and respected departments, working and collaborating with an exceptionally committed and talented team of practitioners.

The school offers a wide range of KS4 and KS5 Business and Personal Finance based courses for students to select from; these include BTEC L1/2 Enterprise, BTEC L3 Business and LIBF L3 Diploma in Financial Studies. In addition, the school is currently in the process of expanding its curriculum offer to include A Level Business. A large number of our students choose to undertake one or more of these qualifications during their KS4 and/or KS5 studies and the learning experiences these students have and the resulting outcomes they achieve are exceptional.

This is an excellent and exciting time to join our school and to be part of an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and supportive team. Applications are invited from passionate Business / Personal Finance specialists for this opportunity to teach in our thriving Catholic community. We are looking for a dedicated and talented member of staff who can demonstrate equal passion for the subject and working with young students.

The school’s 2023 Progress 8 score of +0.33 was the sixth consecutive examination year that the school achieved a positive score on this key performance measure and a wonderful reflection of the talented and dedicated pupils and staff we have at the school.

We are also projected to receive a positive Progress 8 score for 2024 (Progress 8 outcomes will be released by the government later this month). The Business & Finance department’s results are consistently excellent and have been a major contributing factor to the exceptional whole school outcomes achieved in recent years.
