Teacher of Business & Economics job summary

The St Marylebone CE School welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, races, cultures, faiths and genders. The School actively promotes diversity and inclusion across its community and our students come from a wide range of backgrounds: 40% of our students speak English as an additional language; 59% of our students come from backgrounds other than white British.

We would like to recruit a Teacher of Economics and Business from 1st September 2025. We can offer full- or part-time for this role, according to the needs of the timetable. The successful candidate must be able to teach Economics at A-Level and Business Studies at GCSE. A-Level Economics is a particularly popular subject with a growing number of students taking the subject. The department has a very strong academic record with many A-Level Economists applying for Economics degrees. The candidate must be passionate about Economics, and have the ability to teach both Macro & Micro Economics. Sixth form teaching would make up the majority of the candidates timetable. The Sixth form has a culture of excellence, and is a fantastic place to work. Business Studies GCSE is a popular GCSE option subject taught to year 10 and year 11 students who have chosen it. Examination results are excellent.

We require a versatile, capable and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about teaching and learning, collaborative working and sharing good practice. Enrichment is at the heart of the department and we would like to hear from candidates who see the value in connecting students with industry through guest speakers and visits, and who would like to build on these links within the taught curriculum as well as building a strong co-curricular offer. You will join a small department of friendly, experienced teachers, and will be part of a much wider school community where collaboration is important to aid professional development and teaching and learning practice.
