Teacher of Business Studies job summary
We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Business Studies to join this high performing school. The ability to teach Economics at Key Stage 5 would be advantageous but not essential.
At Key Stage 3 students learn about the different functional areas of a business. Lots of ‘real life’ activities are planned, such as meeting a franchisee and taking part in the Student Investor: Stocks and Shares Challenge. At Key Stage 4 students follow the AQA GCSE specification in Business Studies, focusing on Business Start-Ups (Unit 1) and Growing Businesses (Unit 2). The students also undertake a controlled assessment (Unit 3) at the end of Year 10. At Key Stage 5, the students follow the AQA specification. The department also offers a number of extra-curricular activities linked to Business Studies (and Economics). The extended Btec in Business is also offered at Key Stage 5.
The post is suitable for newly qualified or experienced teachers. We have a good induction programme for all new staff.
