We are a highly supportive school with strong subject and senior leadership to help you develop. We are looking for a highly ambitious, committed and dynamic professional to join our ICT and Business department; someone who is passionate about their subject, communicates well with young people and makes a positive impact on their learning.
As part of our thriving ICT and Business department, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in Key Stage 4, offering GCSE or NCFE qualifications, as well as the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Business. Additionally, you will contribute to our Information Technology curriculum, enhancing the learning experience for our students.
The ICT and Business department comprises of a team of experienced educators, including a subject lead in IT and Computer Science, and a head of faculty, providing support and collaboration opportunities. Working closely with five other teachers, you will benefit from a supportive environment where sharing best practices and supporting each other's wellbeing is prioritised.
As an all-through school, Aylesbury Vale Academy fosters collaboration not only within the secondary phase, but also with primary colleagues, ensuring a seamless transition for students. Exciting plans to extend our Post 16 provision further enrich our academic offerings, providing additional opportunities for both staff and students.
Our Business studies department offers a broad and ambitious curriculum, empowering teachers to tailor learning to the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of our students. While planning is centralised to promote collaboration, teachers are encouraged to adapt materials and teaching approaches to best serve their classes. At Key Stage 4 and 5, students benefit from experienced teachers who employ effective teaching strategies, including retrieval practice, to prepare them thoroughly for their exams.
Recent GCSE results reflect the dedication of our staff and the progress of our students, with Progress 8 reaching its highest point in the Academy's history. Notably, the gaps between the progress of SEN and Pupil Premium students continue to narrow, demonstrating our commitment to inclusive education and academic excellence.
Business Studies, Computer science and IT subjects are popular choices among our students, highlighting the importance of passionate and skilled educators in our department. Currently, we have multiple Year 11 classes in Business Studies, IT and Computer Science showcasing the demand for these subjects and the opportunities for impactful teaching.
