What skills and experience we're looking for

About The Hurlingham Academy: The Hurlingham Academy is a very special community. In 2022, our GCSE results were ranked the highest in United Learning Academies, the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the school was ranked ninth in the country for progress. A tremendous 93% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths, with 88% achieving grade 5 or above in the two subjects. At the higher levels, nearly half (48%) of all students achieved a grade 7 or above in English and maths.

These tremendous results are due to the unique culture and community that has developed at The Hurlingham Academy. The highest expectations of students and real academic rigour are combined with a strong focus on developing the whole child and embedding a culture in which every single child matters, and must be supported to achieve their full potential. 42% of our students are pupil premium (nearly twice the national average) and so we are working to help some of the UK's most economically needy students achieve the best GCSE results possible and thus change lives. All staff at the academy are driven by a strong mission to provide educational excellence to students with the least privilege.

Our results show that The Hurlingham Academy is a place where students from all backgrounds thrive academically and socially in an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance and diversity. Our academic approach is for every student in every lesson to enjoy their learning. We strive to ensure that our teaching standards are exceptionally high, and that children feel safe and supported in school. Lessons follow a knowledge-rich and academically rigorous curriculum, and we place a significant emphasis on teachers inspiring their students to love their subject through strong personal subject knowledge and a passion for their subject.

The Hurlingham Academy is a close-knit and diverse community that learns together, has fun together and continues on our journey towards all-around excellence for each individual student year after year. The Academy has cultivated a friendly and welcoming environment for all its staff, with a strong collaborative culture that has community at its heart. Our teachers feel empowered, supported and are provided with the highest-quality professional development. We pride ourselves on ensuring that every member of staff is supported to be the best they can in the classroom and to achieve their career aspirations. Here is the opportunity for you to join one of the most happy and successful schools in United Learning and to be part of the incredible journey that The Hurlingham Academy has been on.
