What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to an increasing number of KS4 and KS5 students opting to study Business Studies, we are looking to appoint an additional Teacher of Business with IT to our permanent teaching team.
Working across experienced teams, this is an opportunity for either an experienced teacher to build upon past experience and skill to further develop a love of business and IT within our students, or for an early career teacher to develop their craft within a supportive department and school.
The majority of your time will be teaching Business Studies. We currently offer the BTEC specifications at both KS4 and KS5, but may consider exploring other specifications and qualifications to ensure our students have the very best opportunity to achieve in this subject.
There is also a pastoral element to this role and there will be pastoral activities to do with your assigned class, including PSHE and other whole school activities.
We are able to consider part-time applications for this role.
What the school offers its staff
St Joseph’s Catholic Academy is part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust which is one of four Trusts in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. The Trust includes five Secondary and twenty-five Primary Schools across South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham.

Our Catholic ethos is at the heart of our school community and strengthens us in all that we do. Also, our FLAME character development programme keeps our focus firmly on developing children holistically, while supporting staff and students’ wellbeing.
