What skills and experience we're looking for
The Royal School is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Teacher of Chemistry to join the department in this heavily oversubscribed day and boarding free school. STEM subjects are at the heart of our education philosophy and student uptake in A-level and triple science subjects is high. The aptitude to teach a range of abilities from ages 11-18 is therefore essential. The ability and enthusiasm to teach across the science disciplines with a flair and passion is crucial as well as a flexibility to contribute within the department and to the development of a love of science from Reception to Y13. The ability to teach up to GCSE would be desired. .
Are you the person to stretch, challenge, support and inspire our students in and outside of the laboratory?
The Science department strives for the highest standards of learning and teaching. The department has a suite of dedicated laboratories and prep rooms, all of which will soon be completely transformed due to capital investment as a result of our free school status. Our students participate in a balanced, practical-driven key stage three programme before choosing GCSE options where triple science uptake is high. Many of our students choose A-level sciences and numbers across all A-level courses are above average. Students opt for many of our STEM based extended day activities, which range from science clubs, CREST awards, go-kart engineering club and practical science presentations
As a result of The Royal School’s excellent CPD programme and the supportive Science team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to: develop professionally; improve and extend their knowledge; develop skills and experience; share outstanding and innovative practice; and contribute to the development of an exciting, challenging and supportive learning environment in and outside of the classroom
