Teacher of Chemistry - September 2021 start job summary

- Walsall Academy are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to the role of Teacher of Chemistry

- Secure knowledge and understanding of the knowledge, concepts and skills in teaching Chemistry at KS3 and KS4

- Able to give positive and targeted support to students with special educational needs

- Qualification to the equivalent of degree level in Chemistry or a related subject

- Good classroom practitioner with evidence of setting appropriate expectations to promote learning and to engage and motivate students

- Ability to use strategies that improve understanding of Chemistry

Walsall Academy in Bloxwich, Walsall opened in September 2003. The student enrolment is around 1300 with approximately 320 students in the Sixth Form. The School is one of a number of City Academies established in England prior to the expansion of the Academies Programme in 2010 and was originally sponsored by The Mercers’ Company of the City of London and Thomas Telford School.
