Teacher of Chemistry - temporary maternity cover job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join one of Britain’s leading state schools and experience teaching in our expanding Grammar School. We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational teacher who has the ability to engage, enthuse and motivate able pupils. You will be passionate about learning and able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies and teaching skills. You will possess excellent communication skills to teach throughout the age range including A’ level. This post is temporary to cover maternity leave and we wish to appoint a Teacher of either Chemistry or Biology. We encourage applications from EQT’s, RQT’s or experienced teachers to join a department which:

Bishop Vesey's Grammar School is a very special place. Since 1527, we have provided an outstanding education to young people across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands area. We are a heavily over-subscribed 11-18 selective six form entry boys' grammar school converter academy with 1313 on roll, including a co-educational Sixth Form of 445 students.
A major strength of our school is our welfare and support structure. Our students are supported by Form Tutors, Learning Mentors and Heads of Year. Behaviour and attendance are excellent. Our students are warm, welcoming global citizens who have a good relationship with staff, which is built on mutual respect. We are a happy and outward-looking community, celebrating diversity and supporting others.
Academic success is also founded on high standards of teaching and learning, and leadership. We are not an 'exam factory'. Together we offer our students the 'Vesey Experience' and encourage all staff and students to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school. Very high standards are achieved in all major sports, with music and drama thriving in our many choirs, ensembles, groups , theatre and school productions.
Our school is an exciting place to work. Staff have high standards of both themselves and our students. There are many opportunities for staff to develop their skills and careers, through research projects, working with trainee teachers, participation in school change teams and good practice groups.
