Teacher of Citizenship and RS job summary

If you are a dedicated, driven Citizenship and RS Teacher with a real passion for these subjects and a drive to instil this in your learners then we have an exciting opportunity for you…

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Citizenship and RS with excellent subject knowledge. The successful candidate will join the school’s highly successful and enthusiastic department of Ethical and Religious Studies, working and collaborating with an exceptionally dedicated and talented team of practitioners.

Citizenship and Religious Studies are popular courses that have been offered at Fulston for several years. The AQA GCSE course in Citizenship covers a range of topics from Life in Modern Britain, Politics and Rights to being an Active Citizen in our community. Students develop debating skills and are encouraged to become more aware of the society they live in. Citizenship is also taught at Key Stage 3 covering similar topics, allowing pupils to develop new skills whilst learning through projects addressing a wide range of global issues.

The AQA GCSE Religious Studies course covers both Christianity and Islam in an addition to ethical topics including peace and conflict, relationships, crime and punishment and issues regarding life and death. At Key Stage 3 we cover the six main world religions as well as topic issues.
