Teacher of Computer Science and Computing job summary

 We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and innovative Part Time Teacher of Computer Science, Computing & IT who would contribute fully to this enthusiastic Department. We are looking for someone to join us working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  The role is suitable for teachers of all experience levels - from Early Careers Teachers to those with a wealth of experience - what matters to us is that you are passionate about teaching and supporting our pupils.

 

The Computing and Business Department is a successful department with excellent resources and committed teachers who nurture good working relationships with students. The Department has 3 teaching rooms and all departments use Google Classroom and a number of departments use Google Chromebooks in some lessons. 

 

If successful you will be joining a team that consists of well qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic staff, with high expectations for all their students. All members of staff teach across the age and ability range up to A Level and work very much as a team, supporting one another and sharing resources. 

The role is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months, subject to a funding review it may become permanent.

Alder Grange School is a successful 11-19 comprehensive High School. There are approximately 850 pupils on roll including around 140 in the sixth form. Located in the beautiful Rossendale Valley with fantastic countryside views and conveniently close to the Motorways with easy access to Manchester and beyonds. Alder Grange was designated by Ofsted in April 2017 as ‘Good’ in all areas. We are proud of our school’s ethos and ensure that all aspects of our work complement this. Alder Grange has been consistently among the most heavily over-subscribed schools in East Lancashire over many years. Pupils join the school from up to 20 primary schools across Rossendale and from beyond. Most year groups have between 138 and 145 pupils on roll. The school has approximately 50 teaching staff and regards all as ‘Leaders’.
