Teacher of Computer Science (maternity cover)
Salary: MPS
Start date: Easter 2026
We are passionate about preparing students for the 21st century world around them; to be digitally literate, and to have skills that equip them to be proactive citizens of the future. With a large team of specialist practitioners, 6 main school computer suites, and a further 2 in The Sixth Form, as well as being a 1-to-1 iPad school, we believe technology, and the teaching of computing, are vital for our young pole; if you agree, then look no further for your next role.
With fabulous GCSE and A-Level results, alongside excellent, passionate, and knowledgeable colleagues, you will have the privilege to teach curious and polite young minds, supported by wonderful facilities. Knowledge of GCSE Computer Science is essential, and being able to deliver iMedia would be a huge advantage. There is also the opportunity to teach A-Level, if desired.
Are you able to:
- Inspire and innovate?
- Nurture and develop (yourself as well as others)?
- Commit to, and raise further, high achievement and motivation?
What the school offers its staff
- Our greatest strength is our people and we work hard to make sure you know that. Wellbeing is central to all we do – we have dedicated wellbeing days for staff, early finishes for you to take the time you need, and this year we successfully trialled a two-week autumn break in the busiest of times
- Our students are exceptional – bright, inquisitive, respectful and diligent and they provide an environment where you can teach and realise your potential, as well as theirs
- Not to mention the Leadership breakfast we do now and again, just to say thank you, the end of term events, Easter Eggs, advent calendars, or summer BBQ. Staff wellbeing is at our core and we want you to know that we do what we do because of you
- Planning your lessons is crucial and it’s always easier when we collaborate – we’ve put in place hours of co-planning so that you can share best practice and resources and not have to sit at home doing it on your own.
In addition, we will offer:
- A culture of bespoke professional development from our own Leadership Academy
- The opportunity to make a difference
- Staff iPads
- Benefit schemes
- The benefit of being part of a multi-academy trust offering collaboration, support of experienced colleagues across our schools and greater opportunities for career progression
