What skills and experience we're looking for

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Academy, where putting students first is part of our fundamental culture. We strongly believe that positive outcomes for our students come from the professionalism, commitment and passion for excellence displayed by our staff.

We are looking for an outstanding classroom teacher to deliver Computer Science to our secondary school pupils. You will need to have the ability to inspire and develop both staff and students in order to raise standards and maximise potential.

What we offer:

  • Employee Rewards scheme – High Street discounts, Staff Wellbeing centre
  • A Trust wide leadership competencies framework
  • 20% non-contact time for teaching staff
  • A professional leadership development coach
  • A Trust wide staff wellbeing policy
  • Personalised professional development supported by an exceptional team within the Academy and driven through The Continual Professional Growth Policy which replaces appraisal and pay progression
  • Generous local government pension scheme.

We welcome visits to the school and will endeavour to share some of the ways we support and value our staff here at the Academy and more widely within the Bridgwater & Taunton College Trust.

We hope you can join us in making a significant contribution to narrowing the gap in achievement for our students and enabling young people to feel the exhilaration of going ‘beyond their best’.

Please note although we are seeking a full-time colleague, applications for a job share will also be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and dedicated team and to play a key role in the further development of this provision at our inclusive academy.

Closing date for applications: Midnight, Sunday 6th October 2024.

Helping you achieve a good work life balance is important to us. Lots of our colleagues work flexibly including part time hours and/or job shares and we are happy to discuss these opportunities with you.

We truly believe that diversity of thought, culture, background and perspective secure the best outcomes for our students. We strive to build teams that represent our local communities and welcome applications from individuals who identify as members of an under-represented group and in particular individuals who identify as BAME, disabled or LGBT. We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
