What skills and experience we're looking for
- Hold an appropriate teaching certificate and Qualified Teacher Status
- Hold a recognised degree (or equivalent) with a good classification in a relevant subject
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching your subject
- Detailed knowledge of current curriculum and pedagogical developments in the teaching of your subject and the wider curriculum
- Experience teaching Key Stage 5
- Ability to teach your subject area up to Key Stage 4
- Desire to further raise overall achievement in your subject area through promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning
- A flexible approach to the teaching of your subject that seeks to promote the learning opportunities of all students and to secure the highest possible levels of achievement
- Demonstrate a commitment to following the school’s principles of teaching, learning and assessment
- Have an effective approach to behaviour management, setting the highest standards and behavioural expectations
- Have sound skills as a classroom practitioner
- Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities
- Willing to take responsibility for professional learning and fully engage in the school’s Professional Growth Programme
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents and colleagues

We are looking for a Teacher of Computer Science. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT / Greenshaw High School and become an integral member of the team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and forward-thinking Teacher of Computer Science to join our dynamic and ambitious school community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Computer Science, a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, and the ability to inspire both students and colleagues.

Main responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning
- Teach Computer Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4; the ability to teach Key Stage 5 is desirable
- Contribute to teaching and learning across the department and school by delivering quality first teaching and being inclusive to pupils’ needs
- Uphold and further develop the department’s strong academic standards and high expectations for student progress
- Adhere to the school’s principles of effective teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Demonstrate strong IT skills and use technology confidently to enhance teaching, learning and departmental operations
Departmental and Wider Contribution
- Play a central role in the development of the Computer Science department, contributing to enrichment activities such as clubs, competitions, revision sessions, trips and open evenings
- Support the smooth and effective operation of the department, including responsibilities such as assessment, examination preparation, and administrative tasks as delegated by the line manager
Professional and Pastoral
- Set and maintain high expectations for behaviour and conduct, both in the classroom and across the school
- Act as a positive role model and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct
- Take ownership of your professional development through full engagement with the school’s Professional Growth Programme
- Undertake the duties of a form tutor, providing academic and pastoral support to a designated tutor group
- Support and uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies and practices
- Carry out any additional duties reasonably requested by the Headteacher, in line with the relevant Pay and Conditions Document

Greenshaw High School is a highly over-subscribed 11 to 18 mixed comprehensive secondary school situated in Sutton, South West London.
