Inspire the next generation of leaders at Harris City Academy Crystal Palace
We are seeking an outstanding Teacher of Computer Science to work within our high performing Academy, this position is open to both NQTs and more experienced teachers.
The Commerce Team delivers Business & Enterprise, Economics, Computer Science & Technology courses at all key stages of the curriculum on offer at the Academy. The subject area is a very popular choice amongst Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students and forms an integral part of the Academy’s focus on Business, Enterprise and Technology related subjects. The next stage of the department’s development is to focus on further embedding Computing & Technology into the curriculum at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and enabling our students to become equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills that they will need to thrive in the twenty first century.
The teaching team consists of a dedicated and dynamic team of eight members of staff, led by the Faculty Co-ordinator for Commerce and is supported by Lead Teachers in charge for each department. The departmental staff operate in an atmosphere of team work and mutual support with an emphasis on innovation, creativity and developing and sharing outstanding teaching practice. The Faculty plays a prominent part in Academy life outside of the classroom where we deliver events, offer students the chance to visit local businesses and create their own enterprise projects through national competitions; provide work experience opportunities and run computing workshops. At Key Stage 5, Commerce teachers at Crystal Palace play an important role in driving forward the provision and teaching of our subjects across the Harris Federation Sixth Form.
