Teacher of Computer Science job summary

Are you an outstanding teacher with the passion and motivation to inspire young people?

If so, then you will not want to miss out on this opportunity to be appointed as a Teacher of Computer Science at our high-performing college! This post has arisen as the subject is an extremely popular one with our students and numbers are growing. The successful candidate would join our Business, ICT and Media Department and so we are also able to offer the opportunity of teaching one of these additional subjects, should they be of interest and in particular ICT.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about these subjects: a team player who will thrive on collaboration and team work; someone who really wants to make a positive difference to the future of our school. If you are an outstanding teacher, it really is worth applying for this post, which does not often arise. We have a strong track record of succession planning and many of our staff have progressed to promoted posts within the College.

Why come to Latimer? This is a fantastic school to work in: as a result of our success and popularity we are over-subscribed and have a very strong positive reputation. On interview we ask candidates for their impressions of the College and without fail they comment on how wonderful our students are, the supportive team ethos amongst staff and how friendly and welcoming the College is.

We are a tight-knit unit striving for the very best for our students and we are focussed on, and passionate about, learning and success.

We genuinely care about our staff, their well-being and their professional development: we are a happy team, committed to working collaboratively and sharing the very best practice. This was very much recognised in our most recent Ofsted Inspection.

We welcome applications from ECTs and we run a highly supportive and successful ECF programme. If you are a trainee and looking for a post from September 2022, we would love to hear from you. We would also welcome interest from unqualified candidates who would be interested in the option of training with us.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

The Latimer Arts College values the diversity of our workforce and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.

Early applications are encouraged as we will review applications as we receive them; and applicants may be contacted before the closing date.
