Teacher of Computer Studies job summary
Harris Academy Chobham is currently looking to appoint a qualified Teacher of Computing to join its team of specialists.

Your opportunity
The successful candidate will join the Business Studies, Economics and Computing Faculty. Each subject offers its GCSE qualification and at post-16, and we offer A Level Computing and Economics alongside Cambridge Technical Business Studies. The faculty is led by a Director of Learning, who is subject lead for Economics. The department recognises the relevance of its subjects to future careers prospects and incorporates STEM links within all of the subject areas. It has also worked over the last 12 months to develop cross-curricular links to ensure consistent approaches to developing the wider learning skills of the students we teach. The Faculty is always keen to grow and develop its teaching and learning practice and put students at the centre of every decision. We work hard to make sure that our students love our subject, improve the cultural capital of those that we teach, and aspire to achieve their very best.
The purpose of your role will be:
To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor
To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
To support the subject area as appropriate and provide direction for Subject Lead and teachers
To contribute to raising standards of student attainment
To share and support the Academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth

The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
Show an understanding of the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3, 4 and 5
Understand the importance of having high expectations for all students, both of behaviour and academic achievement
Understand inclusive provision and practices which offer equality of access to the curriculum for all students, including SEND, EAL and high achievers
Have knowledge and experience of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
Have a good level of ICT skills
Understand the importance of being a Tutor.
