We are looking for someone to join our successful Computer Studies team on a part time basis from September, 2022. This is a superb opportunity for a year-long maternity cover in an established, forward thinking department, which achieves results well above the national average. There may well be further opportunities within the school at the end of the year for the right candidate. Our supportive ethos and superb teaching resources make this an ideal opportunity. The successful candidate will work in a supportive school where students achieve and make sustained progress as a result of our ‘can do’ ethos. We may be able to offer more hours to staff able to deliver small group tuition in maths, science or English.

At Selby High School we ensure that every individual reaches their academic and personal potential, no matter what their starting point. We combine a strong focus on the core areas of literacy, numeracy and science, with a rich and engaging curriculum which offers a broad variety of exciting courses, including the full range of art, technology, sport-related and performing arts based subjects. Learning is carefully structured around the knowledge, skills and understanding required both for success in examinations, and preparation for life in the modern world.

We aim to develop resilience and independence in our students, acknowledging that learning from our mistakes is all part of making great progress. Through regular assessment of learning we are able to inform students and their parents and carers of strengths and areas for development at regular points throughout the year.
